Mukul Karthikeyan
Achieving my dreams through a passion for tennis.
I was born in a small village in southern India and always dreamed of becoming a tennis coach who could nurture player development while emphasizing high performance and excellence.
Despite many obstacles, one of which was, not having access to a tennis court in my village. Through dogged determination, and meticulous planning, I persevered and realised my dream.
Having traversed the world and been immersed in a high-performance environment for the last twelve years, I have worked with numerous national team coaches, coaching legends, and former top professional players. In addition, I have an extensive tennis education background, including certification at the highest level. The above underpinned and broadened my tennis knowledge, allowing me to adopt the best overarching coaching methodologies. This in turn allowed me to fine-tune my coaching skills, and thereby offer an all-round expertise in building and supporting the next generation of world-class players.
In 2017, I was named the Indian Coach of the Year by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR).
In 2019, I was named the Indian Tester of the Year by the PTR.
In 2022, I earned the PTR Master of Tennis in Performance, a qualification earned by fewer than one hundred coaches globally.
In 2023, I was selected as one of sixteen coaches globally for the GPTCA Next-Generation coaching project by WTC3, supported by ATP.
Throughout my career, I've coached and developed many top juniors. Including winning national championships, ITF junior championships, and representing their countries in the Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams. Several players have earned tennis scholarships from American universities.
I'm finding the purpose of my passion through mentoring players succeed on and off the court.
Currently coaching in Salt Spring Island, Canada from 2023-Present.
